Looks like I won't be cooking until later. I'm on my way to this poetry event that my friend is performing at. I definitely want to show my love and support so I'm going to go there first. I can't believe that I'm finally going to hear some poetry again! I'm so excited!
Update: 1/27/2012 @ 12:17am; This event was so amazing. My girl tore the stage up even though she didn't win the contest. I wanted so badly to talk to her afterwards but she was approached by a fan every time that we even started our conversation. She is such a strong woman-always building women up with her words after they have been broken. You should have seen the girls flocking to her to thank her for her words. My spirit could have used a connection with hers tonight.
On another note, there were a handful of cute guys in the building too. I almost got distracted but their hooligan behavior kept me grounded. Well...I did get distracted at one point when this thug got on stage to rap. I miss them :(
Burrby is going to be calling me soon. He updated his status on facebook about me and it made me smile :)
