Foul Play

So...this morning I got to work early and my managers favorite employee came in soon after.  Sometimes as Advisors, we get whats called inbound calls.  These are prospective students who have personally contacted our school and are looking to speak to an Advisor about getting started.

My manager had one of these calls come in today, which he would typically filter down to one of his Advisor's to take.  I heard him tell the agent on the phone that although none of his Advisor's had started work yet, he did want to get that prospective student serviced.  "I do have one of my Advisor's here that can take the call." he said.  Immediately after, he said "You know what, just put the call through. I'll take the call myself."

When the call ended, he went to his favorite advisor's desk and whispered something.  This is what I heard:

"...but it would not have been fair...so sorry about that."

It doesn't taken rocket science for me to figure out that he either said:

1. I would have given the call to you but she was here first so it would not have been fair....so sorry about that.

OR

2. I would have given you the call but your shift had not started yet so it would not have been fair...so sorry about that."

Since he did not announce this to BOTH of us, and chose to whisper it to her, I'm going to go with option #1. Not cool...what a way to start the day.
